The team at Veterans United literally saved my life. I was stuck in a mold infested rental home and the landlord absolutely refused to address the issue, even though my health was noticeably deteriorating as a result. After living out that true rental nightmare, I decided that it was time to buy my first house and I truly do not think that I could’ve done it without them. Everyone on the team was completely on their game and I was able to close on a wonderful home only 33 days after initially contacting them. I swear it’s like they wouldn’t rest until I was safe in a new home. Everyone was so attentive and available whenever I needed them. Being a homeowner was not a part of my plan for the year, but they helped me figure it out logistically and financially despite my lack of preparation. It was an incredibly stressful and emotional time to say the least and they were so supportive in every possible way. They really made it so I was able to maintain sanity through the whole process. They cared deeply about me as a person, not just my business. There are so many predatory companies in the home buying market and I am truly lucky they reached out to me so quickly and took such great care of me from the day that I reached out until the day that I closed and beyond. I genuinely could not be more grateful. I now recommend Veterans United to every single veteran who will listen to me whether they are currently in the market for a new house or not. They worked miracles for me and helped me accomplish a huge milestone that I did not even think was a possibility. Every single person on my team has a special place in my heart forever.
Best loan experience I’ve ever had. Loan officers were always available. I would recommend to any vet looking to buy a home.
After getting denied by other lenders because they didn't know the ins and out of VA loans and specific circumstances, CJ at Veterans United assisted and did everything to ensure my loan process went smoothly. Amazing Customer Service by all and thank you for the reassurances given throughout the past few months!
Working with Veterans United was really easy. We did a cross country move and it was great not having to try to find a lender in another state.

Jason is very knowledgeable and Easy to work with.
VA home loans gave me good advice when choosing the area to settle, helpfully recommended a great realtor, and stayed in touch throughout the process to assist when I needed the help. Their help changed a normally stressful process into one more easily endurance and understandable.
I can only say my recommendation for your company is the very highest. All of your people that dealt with me were outstanding. Your Internet website is very user-friendly. I liked it very much. The concierge Function was new to me and so very helpful. Great idea. The loan coordination was very user-friendly and greatly helped keep the process going in the right direction at all times. It was a team effort and I have only positive things to say about each member of the team. They did a great job.
Smooth
VA United's staff for quite assistive, friendly as well as understanding of what I was seeking to accomplish. Best to them in future service to other individuals & their families who have served their country...cheers....
Communication could have been better. There were a lot of unanswered calls and emails.
Trey Barrow and his team went the extra mile to provide us with excellent service, would highly recommend, thx again Trey!
VU is a great option for first time home buyers (and it was for my first home purchase) but if you may have some complicated factors, of are buying a fairly expensive home, I would shop around. The origination fee is always 10% so if you're buying a $500k house, that's $5000 you have to pay JUST in origination fees. Several things were missed in our underwriting and closing that put us in super uncomfortable positions multiple times. Something would be missed and they would come to a solution and say "okay that's it! You're good to go" until something else would magically get brought up. Closing tasks we're done last minute causing our closing process to be a disaster. People working our case were missing things because it was their "first time" so no, I will not be using VU again and I would recommend that if you're considering VU, that you do at least shop around for other VA loan providers.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Sabrina,
Thank you for sharing this. I’m glad your first experience with us felt strong, and I’m really sorry to hear that this time around brought so much frustration. When things come up late in the process or you feel like new issues keep appearing after being told everything is good to go, it can make the whole experience stressful and hard to trust. Closing should never feel like a scramble, and I understand why this left such a difficult impression.
I’d really like for my team to have the chance to review what happened and make sure your feedback is fully heard. If you’re open to talking more, you can reach me at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com. We’re available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, and if you reach out after hours we’ll typically follow up the next business day.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. I’m here if you’d like to walk through it together.
Daniel, sheri were extremely helpful and diligence. I appreciate their assistance and courtesy. Thank you
